Hi Ho, Hi Ho it's off to home we go....who else can say that they live in the former home of an American country music singer, guitarist, songwriter and author.....from my understanding although it is not in print...he was quite the character. Elton Britt was the first country artist to receive a gold disc award for his 1942 hit song, There's a Star-Spangled Banner Waving Somewhere. The patriotic ballad sold over a million copies by 1944 and was the first gold record in country music history.
